Archival c. 1990s Gianni Versace Couture Ivory Silk Gown
A beautiful 1990s Gianni Versace Couture gown, made in Italy from pure ivory silk.
The neckline falls into a soft V, held by the finest spaghetti straps, with a beautifully clean line continuing through the body. The skirt is cut from panels of silk, split deeply at either side so they float apart as you walk and fall softly over one another when still.
From behind, the simplicity continues with a low back and long, uninterrupted lines of silk. There is not a bead, lace trim or embellishment in sight. Everything comes back to the fabric and the cut.
And then there is the silk itself. True ivory, 100% silk, beautifully weighted with a soft matte finish, allowing the panelling and construction to take centre stage.
