These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of www.shopabditory.com.auand to purchases made from Abditory. This website is owned and operated by Abditory, with our ABN registered under Abditory Vintage.

By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before completing your purchase.

About Abditory

Abditory is an Australian online retailer specialising in antique and vintage bridalwear, intimates and related vintage pieces.

Our collection is made up predominantly of pre-owned, one-of-a-kind garments sourced from different eras. Because of the nature of vintage, each piece is unique and cannot necessarily be replaced once sold.

Vintage Condition

All Abditory pieces are vintage, antique or pre-owned unless otherwise stated and may naturally show signs of age, previous wear, repair, alteration, fading or other characteristics consistent with vintage garments.

Each piece is visually inspected before listing, with relevant condition details noted in the product description. Significant condition issues may also be shown in photographs where appropriate.

Where a general condition issue is noted, such as fading, marking, pulling or wear, it may be present in more than one area of the piece.

3.
Product Descriptions, Dating & Photography

We take care to ensure our product descriptions, measurements, photographs and other listing details are as accurate as possible.

Colours and tones may vary slightly depending on lighting, photography and screen displays.

As vintage garments do not always retain complete labels or records, details such as age, fibre content, designer attribution or construction may sometimes be based on the information available to us and our assessment of the piece.

If a listing error comes to our attention, we will correct it.

4.
Sizing & Measurements

Vintage sizing can differ from modern sizing, so labelled sizes should be treated as a guide only.

Each listing includes detailed garment measurements, which we recommend comparing with your own or with a similar garment that fits you well.

Fit can vary depending on body proportions, personal preference and the cut of the garment, so measurements cannot guarantee fit.

Incorrect fit or size selection is not eligible for return or exchange under our change-of-mind policy.

5.
Orders & Acceptance

All orders are subject to acceptance by Abditory and product availability.

After placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation. We reserve the right to cancel and refund an order where reasonably necessary, including where:

an item has unexpectedly become unavailable

there has been an obvious pricing or listing error

payment cannot be processed or verified

we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity

we are otherwise unable to fulfil the order

If we are unable to supply an item you have paid for, we will contact you and provide an appropriate refund or other remedy.

6.
Prices & Payment

All prices displayed on the Abditory website are in Australian dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated.

Any taxes, shipping charges or other amounts payable in connection with your order will be displayed where applicable before checkout is completed.

Payment must be made in full using one of the payment methods available at checkout. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers and may also be subject to those providers' terms and conditions.

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If an obvious pricing error occurs, we may contact you before fulfilment and either offer the opportunity to proceed at the correct price or cancel and refund the order.

Discount Codes & Promotions

Discount codes and promotional offers are subject to the terms communicated at the time they are issued and may apply only to selected products, categories, customers or orders.

Unless otherwise stated, discount codes cannot be redeemed for cash, exchanged for store credit or applied retrospectively. Eligibility, minimum spend, usage limits and whether discounts can be combined will depend on the applicable promotion terms and checkout settings.

Abditory may refuse or cancel a discount where it has been used fraudulently, contrary to the stated terms, or as a result of an obvious technical or pricing error.

Shipping & Delivery

Abditory currently ships within Australia and to New Zealand. Orders are generally prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days, with shipping costs and estimated delivery times shown on our Shipping page and at checkout.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by postal delays, public holidays, peak delivery periods, weather events or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. If a parcel is returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address, additional postage costs may apply.

If your parcel is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us so we can investigate with the carrier and assist with the appropriate next steps.

9.
Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

Due to the unique nature of vintage, Abditory does not offer returns or exchanges for change of mind or incorrect fit.

If there is an issue with your order, please contact us at hello@shopabditory.com.au with your order details and photographs so we can review it with you.

10.
Alterations, Cleaning & Care After Purchase

Vintage garments can be delicate and require appropriate handling. We recommend that future cleaning, restoration, repairs or alterations are carried out by a professional experienced in vintage and delicate textiles.

Abditory is not responsible for damage caused after purchase by improper care, storage, cleaning, steaming, pressing, alterations, repairs or other treatment by the customer or a third party.

11.
One-of-a-Kind Items & Availability

Most Abditory pieces are unique and available in a single quantity.

Placing an item in your cart does not reserve it. An item may remain available to other customers until checkout has been successfully completed.

In the unlikely event that two orders are processed for the same one-of-a-kind piece or a stock discrepancy occurs, we will contact the affected customer and provide a full refund for any item we cannot supply.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all original content on the Abditory website, including our name, trademark, photographs, product descriptions, written content, graphics and branding, belongs to Abditory or is used with permission.

You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify or use our content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

Abditory® is a registered trademark of Abditory Vintage.

13.
Website Use

You must not use the Abditory website for any unlawful purpose or attempt to interfere with its security, functionality or operation.

We take reasonable care to keep the website accurate and available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access at all times. Maintenance, technical faults or services operated by third parties may occasionally affect availability.

Privacy

Personal information collected through the website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found here.

15.
Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Abditory is not responsible for loss or damage caused by matters outside our reasonable control or by the misuse, improper storage, alteration, cleaning, repair or treatment of a garment after purchase.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

16.
Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, products, services or legal requirements.

The version published on our website at the time you place an order will apply to that order.

17.
Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, together with applicable Commonwealth laws.

If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter directly and reasonably.

Nothing in these Terms limits any right to seek assistance from NSW Fair Trading, the ACCC, a court or tribunal where available.
