c. 1940s Scalloped Collar Lace Wedding Gown
A beautiful 1940s bridal gown in ivory lace, with long sheer sleeves, a defined waist and an incredible scalloped collar framing the neckline spreading across the shoulders almost like a little cape.
Petite floral covered buttons run through the centre of the bodice, while the sheer sleeves fall long and softly fitted to the wrist.
The waist sits beautifully close to the body, with the lace extending over the hips before falling into a long skirt. The floral lace is left wonderfully uninterrupted through the length of the gown, allowing the pattern to become such a lovely part of the silhouette.
The original ivory satin slip remains sewn beneath, its fine straps visible through the sheer lace bodice. Longer than the lace itself, the satin emerges beneath the hem and pools at the floor, giving the skirt that romantic layered finish.
A wonderfully preserved piece of 1940s bridal, romantic in all the right places, with that incredible collar, sheer lace and glimpse of satin beneath.

CONDITION
We take a lot of care with the condition of our vintage pieces. Each garment is cleaned, revived and carefully inspected, but vintage will naturally show signs of age and previous wear. With that in mind, please review the condition notes below:
Beautifully preserved, with no notable flaws.
CARE
Your piece has been carefully cleaned and will arrive ready to wear. After shipping, it may just need a light steam to release any wrinkles. Use only distilled water on the lowest setting and from a distance, placing a clean white cloth between the steamer and the garment to help protect delicate fabrics from water marks.
For storage, keep your piece somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight, ideally in a breathable garment bag where appropriate.
For any future cleaning or restoration, we recommend taking it to a professional who is experienced with vintage and delicate fabrics. A little care goes a long way in keeping your piece beautiful for years to come.
