c. 2000s Amsale Strapless Silk Bridal Ballgown
Amsale bridal ball gown cut in ivory silk, with a softly gathered strapless bodice and an extraordinarily full skirt.
The bodice is beautifully ruched through the silk, drawing into a clean, fitted waist before opening into the fullness of the skirt. Layers of tulle sit beneath, creating that incredible volume and exaggerated shape through the hips.
The skirt falls in broad panels of ivory silk, becoming fuller through the sides and back before extending into a wide train. There is so much volume to the gown, yet not a single embellishment to distract from the silhouette.
It is Amsale’s idea of simplicity at its most beautiful. Romantic and restrained, with everything coming back to the cut, proportion and silk. A beautiful c. 2009 piece, made in New York City during the Amsale Aberra era of the house.
