S/S 2000 Vera Wang Ivory Silk Wedding Gown with Buttoned Train
Spring 2000 Vera Wang ivory strapless wedding gown, cut from 100% silk with a long sweeping train and covered button back.
Clean strapless neckline with long panelled seams through the bodice and skirt, falling close through the upper body before gradually opening towards the hem. The gown is completely unembellished through the front, keeping the focus on its beautifully simple shape and the sweep of the silk.
Tiny fabric-covered buttons run from the top of the back bodice down the entire centre of the gown, continuing all the way through the train to the very end. A beautiful contrast to the simplicity of the front, and such a distinctly Vera Wang detail.

CONDITION
We take a lot of care with the condition of our vintage pieces. Each garment is cleaned, revived and carefully inspected, but vintage will naturally show signs of age and previous wear. With that in mind, please review the condition notes below:
The gown presents beautifully, with a few marks remaining to the silk after cleaning and are mostly only visible on close inspection. Given the delicate silk and original covered-button detailing, we have chosen not to subject the gown to further dry cleaning.
The gown was altered for its original bride around the bodice and bust. Evidence of the alterations, including visible stitching, can be seen on the interior of the gown but is not visible when worn.
One button shows minor wear to the fabric covering, and the final button at the end of the train is missing.
CARE
Your piece has been carefully cleaned and will arrive ready to wear. After shipping, it may just need a light steam to release any wrinkles. Use only distilled water on the lowest setting and from a distance, placing a clean white cloth between the steamer and the garment to help protect delicate fabrics from water marks.
For storage, keep your piece somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight, ideally in a breathable garment bag where appropriate.
For any future cleaning or restoration, we recommend taking it to a professional who is experienced with vintage and delicate fabrics. A little care goes a long way in keeping your piece beautiful for years to come.
